I believe they actually made an HDJ79 for some part of the world, no idea what part of it is a 79 though - the gearing is right for the 79 with 4.30 diff's though. You can swap the front hub assemblies out from the 5 to 6 lug pattern if you wanted to but then you;d lose the nice big brakes on it.

A bit of a dogs breakfast though. For something like that I'd rather build my own rather than end up with someone elses "learn as we go" type of project. It could be good - or it could be a pain in the ass.

And - why do all that work and end up with a brown landcruiser???? LOL, barf!

Cool truck though.

Ah ok, I think it's an 81 series chassis with drive train, with an HZJ77 body and pick up box, or pretty close to that.

I was thinking that too after I saw it has "full time 4wd"

Do you mean with a 1HD T or 1HD FTE?
HDJ78/79 are pretty common here.

no idea - i just knew of the hdj79 designation.

ya i noticed the full time hubs and the 80 series rims.

This is a 80 series front diff under a 75 i think even with the oem flare the tyre width sticking out would be more than the duel cab unless of course the rims have diff offset
wheel.webp

the 80 series frame and axles would be too wide for the 7* series body.

it is a mess of different vehicles combined into one nice package. i even like the colors. it is a clean looking build.

i tried to find the company that built it but nothing on the web or the car dealer stuck up a ficticious name...

anyone want to contact him and get him to read off the vin from the frame horn?

Do you have some secret duelcab info rosco:D

Ive heard Toyota have promised the miners one when the airbag models come out.
It makes sense, the 79 series must be the only ute in oz without a dual cab in their line up.

Even the Great Wall ute has a dually:D

Im sure they would sell huge i spose if toyota do it the pootrols will follow suit to

I like the 4500 dual cam power but not the fuel bill.
Im not sure about the windows on that one but I know aussie body builders have a wind down window available.
