I don't mind pickin up somethin like that w/ twisted steel & sex appeal ;p Now, if it were rusted, that's what I'd be mostly concerned about, but it looks :smokin: from here ;p Great grab man!

Do you have any history on this thing?
What accually happened to it?
Great platform to build on.

the grandson rolled it on the farm or so it sounds like not totaly sure
it was a flop it the driver side

The bed is in better shape than mine.

Good catch! Some bent metal, yes, but without a doubt a solid core there. Looks like the roll was tame enough that nothing bad happened to the frame or other important bits.

I would first get it running before you rip it apart, speaking from experience. ;) I too found an lpb for $400.00, but it did not have floors or paint or much of anything else if you know what I mean. You def. got a deal there. Congrats.

windshield frame

Coolcruiser,
I cant believe what you are starting with; it kind of makes me quesy looking at it all twisted like that!

But I dare say that your windshield frame is NOT going to hammer out. I am nearing the end of my 45 build (or at least to the point that I know I dont need this any more), and I happen to have a windshield frame for a removable top to spare. It has the capture nut holes for the hooks the top latches too. I bought the whole windshield because I needed the impossible to find hook/latches. Looks like you have those in the mangled remains of your roof and windshield.

If you are interested, drop me a PM and we will work something out. I head over to the LA area from time to time and would be happy to arrange to meet to save shipping and all of that hassle (besides, doesnt look like you need it real soon).

Also, its odd that the remaining bottom portion of the windshield doesnt have the vent in it (mine does; I thought all mid-sixties did).

Looking forward to watching you build that back up. Please post lots of photos.

ill send you a pm

Man, I think that was one violent flop... I rolled my 40 360deg and spun 180deg and it looks better than that.. I only had a lap belt on and came out OK but I know it was God who kept me from getting hurt..

Vent

Not all mid 60's FJ45's had the vent. Here is a picture of mine VIN FJ45-25016 which has it being built Oct/Nov 1965
Hopefully this picture will inspire you--now if only this truck could move under its own power I would be a happy camper. Good luck with the build and please post lots of photos.
