Dropping front diff and cannot for the life of me get the cv axles out.

I have everything removed besides the lower control arms and I still cannot get them out. I need like 1/2” more room. How does everyone make this look so easy on YouTube? I’ve wiggled and pulled from every angle I can.

It’s free from diff , but seems I need to remove from wheel side first and then slide out from diff.

CV (AKA: FDS) are best removed while diff bolt in, with knuckle off. Can be done with just one ball joint released, than swing out knuckle.
Here's video of install. Remove is just reverse order.

Sometimes the longer way is the easier. Personally I remove FDS, before pulling front diff.

You could try turning steering wheel. To get diff w/FDS in on side. Drop one side at a time out.

You see a video of someone dropping out front diff, with FDS still in knuckles? Post a link to youtube vid. I'd like to see that.

Be supper hard to re install and not damage seals.

I'm curious, why are you pulling front diff?

Disregard. Went to HF and got a bigger puller and just removed the lower control arm

Thanks for video. Putting in ARB locker. Got rear done and now time for front

I used a crowbar and hammer on the lip of the cv axle. Just some light taps and it should start coming out. Don't be afraid to use your purse if it's really stuck.

I think I ****ed up and should have removed diff cv side first?

I ended up pulling upper/lower control arms and steering…so literally everything. Oh well…at least I’m more intimate with the front end now and know exactly what pullers I need :)
