I feel you. I'm the cup holder guy and get annoyed by the cup holder threads. I try to avoid them when possible. At the same time, when I originally made the front and rear double cup holders (prototypes 1.0) in my last 80, it was literally the best mod I had done and I had a massive mod list. I think the cup holder topic is a lot more exciting for those of us with kids. I have 3 and number 4 on the way so cup holders was an instant hit for the hole family. It's a rare thing when my wife gets excited about a mod. Most of the time I get the death look when she sees the receipts for items I have put on my rigs. Cup holders aren't for everybody but for the folks who need them and want them to be fully functional; they are wonderful. It's just the frosting on the cake of a killer rig from the factory. It's the one spot Toyota struck out on.Not to 'dis' on BHicks (looks like a good product, really) or any other vendors -
But is it just me or does anyone else find the sheer number of "cupholder" threads we get nearly embarassing?
Really, we have argueably the most competent mass produced (easily top 5) 4wd & yet what is the big topic? -cupholders? -really?
I'm sure it's just me, but it's alot like when you see a real bitchin' mountain bike like a Evil Insurgent / Following or Santa Cruz V10 / Bronson on the bike rack outside a Starbucks.
It's like a Triple Crown race horse being used to give "pony rides" to little kids at a birthday party.
Sorry for the mini-rant, but after 10-12 yrs here the cupholder thing just seems like if a Ferrari owner wanted snowtires to drive over mountain passes.
- Certain vehicles just don't need certain provisions -
Not saying I don't use mine, I do - but whatever I get fits or if the bottle (water normally, or the big Gatorade / Lipton tea ones) - I just drop down by the E-brake.
:::deep breath:::
OK, I finally said it. I feel better. I'll shut up now. /rant

@bhicks
I just had a decade of 'cupholder thread' I had to rant about, and I now get it esp with kiddos - IDK if you make it, but maybe a 2 or 3 cup version to clip over the back of the lower console hinge for when you have 'em packed up 3 deep & need a spot for the 'sippy cups'.
Wow, that's full circle! - from ranting about cupholders to dropping a cupholder idea in <1 hour!![]()
Looks like the bump to this thread got my website hot again. I'm getting the same questions now in pm's.

I was rereading this thread due to a couple recent questions that popped up and realized I never responded to your question. I do make 70 series cup holders. I have a vendor who sells them for me. I just manufacture them. I make the console and floor mounted ones. Check out Odd Iron Offroad. You can get them here: STOREDo you have 70 series and other such odd to us gringos sorts of LandCruisers? You may need them if people from CA and SA start hitting on you. They have all the good options in various choices we never had a chance to try.![]()
