Lack of power, it seems to run out of oompf at the worst possible moment. Even when using a snatch block. Then, when it won't reel in any further, it locks up and won't release an inch. Which is equally as concerning when you can't move the truck an inch in either direction.

The headlights dim as you hit the switch, and you can hear the solenoids... but no go

Do you idle up?
Maybe the brushes aware going?

Sounds like a motor problem,lots of places in Victoria rebuild electrical motors.See if you can slide the motor out without removing the whole winch and bumper.

Yeah, I idle up to about 2,000.

Brians electric on douglas... always good to me..
they probably can test it before rebuilding...
they rebuilt the motor on one of my 8274 for under $100 if i remember correctly..

did you check all the connections at the battery and on the winch..
