Pretty much blows my toy budget for the summer. The woman in the campsite next to me blew out her back window backing into the same tree. Anyhow...while driving home through 100 degree Reno, I get to thinking how nice a swim would be. Got home to find the giant o ring on the pool filter failed some time this week and the pool had lost about half the water and collapsed. It'll take the rest of the summer to remove the tea color and a bunch of chemicals to get the chemistry right from my funky well water.Sounds like we are having similar luck. Went out to the ramcharger the other day and it had a mysterious flat tire with no visible nails or holes..... It's one of those mystery flats that only happens when the planets and the tire are aligned perfectly, the rest of the time it doesn't lose any air at all. Ran over a board in the yard and ruined a tire on the trash trailer.....
Took the 5th wheel out today, blew an a/c hose on the dodge, all of a sudden I'm losing fuel pressure radomly, and the motor is running hot. We managed to catch a rat nest in the generator on fire, caught a spider's web on fire in the back of the fridge, the batteries aren't holding a charge.....
This is one of those days my horoscope should have said...."Stay in Bed!"
BTW, I picked up one of those Yukon Carrier Bearing Pullers so I can do my gears. If you don't want to drive to Sean's let me know. I'm sure I can grenade a bearing just as good as you can..
.Well another update is due.
I have had a growl that has gotten worse, so I started "Operation Suicide." I put the cruiser up on jackstands, hooked up the tow strap to the truck and had Darcie get in the driver's seat. I could get the 80 to make the growl at around 30-35mph, so I had Darcie hold it there. This is where the suicide part comes in. I crawled under the 80 while Darcie was holding it steady around 35mph. Grabbed the mechanic stethyscope(sp) and crawled under the 80 and started listening. The rear pinion/third member is where the sound is coming from, so I have to pull the third. I guess my gear install didn't work out, so I have to get it down to Sean one day this week and get it put back together before the weekend. At least the rear is fairly easy to remove/install, much better than the front.
