The Outer Banks are awesome. I would go at least every other weekend when I lived in Virginia Beach. Hell my first date with my wife was out on the beach in Corova where you can drive on the beach. You are about 15 miles south of beach access if you have something 4wd. Watch the tides as it can get tricky.
