View attachment 1083326 Christmas came early. Rebuilt 6.0, flat top Pistons, ported @ polished heads, Comp Cams G3 XFI Cam, ls1 intake, Oil Pan, Painless Stand Alone kit and a 4l80E Trans . I should have no more lack of power issues with my 80. Plan is to have it done before the Crawl.

Is this the 6.0 out of the 2500? If so, what's involved machine shop and parts wise ($) to have one rebuilt? How much power will this setup make? Does it require a new ECU, or is that part of the Painless kit?

This is a different set up. Got an awesome deal that I couldn't pass up. According to the recipes the machine work with parts was $1800. Ecu came with the painless kit. Power wise should be in the 420-450hp range. Excessive I know but that's what my plans were originally. Will put this one on the dyno for actual numbers when it's done.

6.0 truck motor with air intake, headers and a computer tune will get you 380-400 hp.

Plenty plenty.

That is going to start a long overdue parts cascade on Rob's truck but it will sound great doing it!

450hp is perfect for the stock 4l80e. With all the work/parts you listed, I thought you were headed north of 500.

I am hoping to make the stock stuff last as long as possible so my pockets can recover. Will have to upgrade the weak 8" for sure. I'm already killing those. I'm hoping the rear axle shaft that's twisted will break first.

500+ could happen as this engine started as a LQ9 with 345HP and 380 torque in stock form. Do some head work add a cam and a aggressive tune and 500 mark gets close. I like under estimating my numbers. It also makes me feel better about my poor front diff.

I saw not one, but TWO A-Team vans at lunch today:grinpimp:

(So as not to violate the one-pic rule, this is a cropped screen shot of my phone showing both vans. I can put both pics if I receive a one-time waiver.)
