I did do dado joints on my original system, did not do it on the drawer i just added because...well i don't know. Just didn't.

I'm trying not to overthink this one, because nothing i put in those drawers in the past is heavy. What is heavy is the stuff i stack on top of the drawer system as a whole.

what'd you do with the old system? i figure you are reusing the base, but what about the rest? I have your diagrams saved on my computer and was talking with my buddy Brennan about copying them since he has a carpentry shop for his remodeling business.

@bamabrock i'm reusing enough of it to make the rest of the original worthless, unfortunately. Just random pieces left over.

@NOLAKS I'm using cheap home depot slides for the drawers and high dollar locking slides for the fridge area.

Would you change the design/measurements after using it for 5 years?

I'm just going to have him make the main box for now and add wings, latches and carpet etc to it later. I may keep it as a platform and use storage containers/gun cases instead of drawers.

yeah i'm changing it, drastically. It was just a side by side drawer system. This new setup will be much different.

If just doing the simple box only, that's a piece of cake. Use the length/width measurements i gave you from before, those really don't change. If you dont' have them i can get them tonight.

I've got all the pics and measurements in a folder on my google drive from when you posted them before. The plans you posted before were what I was going to base my off of. Your new setup is pretty cool but I need a side by side system like you had just because of how I use my truck every weekend loading it down with stuff going back and forth to the farm and the beach. Your measurements that i attached are what I'm going to borrow as the base of my simple build. No one ever post their measurements in their builds, so your pics were really helpful. One question about your new setup, where is the pup going to ride now?

Check local plywood suppliers that supply cabinet shops. Russel Moore Lumber should be able to get you 5x5 ssheets of 1/2 baltic through Cedar Creek Lumber. And 1/2 is way sturdy enough. I have even thought about skeletonizing with speed holes it to lighten it up some.

The need for a DIY manufacturer is great...calling @Fireman 's custom woodworking shop!!

The guy in the thread linked earlier is gonna do it all wrong...
