Run PMC if you are ever at Nolen's with Skottle in hand will you put inside his BGE. I want to make sure it will fit below the grill grates.

I love the idea of it but $60 for a MF carry bag.....come on.

I'll try to get some measurements for you tonight. I know it barely fit in my XL Primo when I put it in there to condition it (they tell you to put oil all over it and put it on high heat before using it). However, the primo is oval and not a true round, so it may fit nicely in the BGE.

And, yes, the carrying case (even at BRO prices) is a joke. I passed. I tote mine around in an old green duffel bag that I got for a high school graduation present (a loooooong time ago).

Caves are consistent temp year-round (about 55), but may be getting hot for camping unless it's early June or end of May. Kids would be aces, just depending on how hardcore you want the caving. I'm game for anything from a full-on family trip to just dudes.

Taking this to the Opine level.

What area?

Well, this is where I've been before and would like to go back. El Malpais National Monument (U.S. National Park Service)

Incredible spot and would love to explore more of the lava tubes. I'll punt it to you to see what you can find for backcountry travel. Lots of 4x4 roads in the area, including Chain of Craters backcountry byway. I'd like to go in March or April for some colder weather, but spring may be tough for me to get away for that long. Opine on...

I may suffer from SBP when it comes to multiple overlanding adventures in one year. So, if its a just dudes trip, I'm probably out. I'll see if the fam has any interest if yall end up opening it up, but my wife is not really a spelunker.

FAM is great for me.

My wife is claustrophobic and doesn't do caves, so she'd be in good company. Our family is planning on doing another big roadtrip in July, so I'd probably want to keep some distance between this and that.

Btw I'm headed to Huntsville for work a couple times in Feb. wanna see your crib.
These are overland routes driven by some local car campers. I am opening the .kmz files with the map pro app on windows 10. (free app)

I work in HSV and live 40 miles south. Just holla. Huntsville has some great craft beer breweries now.
