I'd use 6061 Alum....and I've got some 2"sq if you want a piece....I'd ship it to you no worries.....just to see what you do with it..

Thanks for the offer, very nice of you, but I'm going to try the piece I have and maybe anodize it. That looks like a fun project and maybe I'll learn something.
