I took the amateur radio 'Technician' exam this afternoon. I've got the license manual and the study material if anyone wants to borrow it.

It wasn't a big deal at all, and I'm happy to help if anyone has any questions.

Did you do any online sample tests or just read the book? Got any links?

Looks like some Mad Max sh!t going down there.

Yeah. It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out. Jen's is straightforward. 22R out 22R in. But the '95 Volvo 960 engine in the mini truck? Never been done.

I used HAMtestonline or something like that. The test is not bad at all. Just memorization.

Overlanding cred thru the roof!

Seriously very cool. I've got the book on my desk. Can never make myself start. Same on the practice tests. need to get off my butt and do it.

@beno 'liked' this just so he could 'unlike' it.

I bought the 'Manual' from amazon:

The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual: ARRL Inc.: 9781625950130: Amazon.com: Books

It includes all the material plus all the possible test questions. The test is 35 questions, multiple choice. The 35 questions are selected from a pool of 426 questions, all of which are available online, in the book, all over the place. It's broken down into sections, and the 35 test questions are based on a set number per section.

If you go here you can sign up for a 'Review Account':

ARRL Exam Review for Ham Radio™

Once logged in you can review all the questions (and answers) by section or by chapter. Additionally, it will generate sample tests based on the questions/section criteria. They make it pretty simple to prepare.

Cool, thanks. I have the previous test version's book. I suck at memorization, I have to understand it. I'll read that, but use the online practice test. I have this on my to-do list before spring.
