Contemplating Inner fender replacement

Anyone know the answer to this?
Pretty sure they have a seam sealer basically bonding them together (not like welded, just an annoying glue) so it's probably easier to do the whole thing. Also, the wheel well bolts (the small ones that bolt the inner to the outer) are a pain. They either break, or the nutserts break, or both. I had to order a whole bunch of them for mine last year.

So just to confirm, I don't have to split them for removal and re-install? :)

If not, is there any other seam sealer I need to deal with?

No, I'm trying to remember if any of the bolts are tough to get to without separating, but I don't believe so. The worst part is probably unbolting everything from the inner fender, especially the DS.

I installed the driver side as one piece (inner fastened to outer). Lots of stuff to hang up and out of the way but it wasnt that hard except I had some broken bolts to deal with....I always do ! I did the PHH while it was all off. Both of my inners have (had) the big rust belt hole in them...I still need to do the passenger side but I'll probably just cut it out and repair. My drivers side also had a bad outer so the decision to do them together was easy. Man....how nice it was to get a fender assembly with nothing but Georgia red clay on it!

Everything is straightforward, except for the vertical bolt at the very front top corner which goes through the outer fender, core support, and back into the outer fender. The way it's sandwiched in there, you don't have enough clearance to remove the bolt. What I did was loosen the bolt as much as possible, then I removed the 3-4 10mm bolts holding the top of the outer fender to the inner. This allowed me enough space to pull the bolt out.

Also of note, there is a bit of seam seal running vertical where the inner fender meets the firewall.

Thanks again for the reply, gave me the confidence I needed

Good deal, definitely not too bad to do. I ordered a fender from a junkyard last year and asked if it came with the inner fender. He said yes. Then I got just the outer shipped to me. I went round and round with him as he insisted the inner was welded to the body structure. NO IT ISN'T! That whole ordeal was more frustrating than replacing the fender itself lol.

Man, that sounds like a pain!

@JaketheSSnake can you by chance tell me the part number of those screws that hold the inner fender liner to the outer? I can't seem to find them. I need to replace all of mine. Thanks!

Or anybody for that matter? The part number for the screws that hold the inner fender liner to the outer? Thank you!
