I needed the factory size in order to get ARP USA to make a stronger connecting rod bolt, that way i can wind the motor out more......or atleast thats the plan for now.

So as far as the stock toyota dimensions go, this was all i could dig up, can someone confirm this?

The Knurl 10.25mm
Thread 10.00mm
Length from under the head of the bolt 56.00mm

I might just be able to get away with ARP bolts on the stock rods and see how far i can wind the motor out.

Even with better con rod bolts you still have only four main bearings. 4,000 RPM is about all it will take. Sure a litte balancing and polishing might get you to 4,500 RPM but there is not much benefit.

The whole point of this thread is to see how far i can push the 2F in terms of beefing up its known failure points, i know it only has 4 main bearings, simple physics apply (larger force over smaller area) so its bound to be limited from the start. I still want a 2F over a 350 V8 regardless of what everyone says. Machine work and mechanical work are cheap here so its not a problem, sourcing niche parts is...

Not to come off as an @$$ but i still want to go through with this and hope to post up my findings as i go along. Out here in the dunes we spend alot of our time at 4K rpm so every little bit counts.

I think it's cool what you are doing. Also, I remember a thread on here where there was a discussion about redline on a 2F. As I recall, consensus was that a stock 2F in good shape was rock solid to 4,500. And that with stronger con-rod bolts, 5K+ was doable, repeatedly. Pretty sure Mark Watley was one of the posters, so maybe do a search on his name for more info.

I used Jaguar con rods from their 4.2 straight 6 E TYPE, you just have to have the crank machined to match them, cross drilling the crank recommended too for better oiling.

As for how far you can push it, my numbers are there to beat. It is still the most powerful 2F to date that I'm aware of.

correct me please if I'm wrong, Matt, but your jag rods are longer by a bit and you have custom slugs to fit...and, yeah, you're still the man...
