I am looking for a compression tester to check both a 2F and 1HZ engine. I am looking for something at the pro-consumer level. I would like to buy something that I can use for many years and not worry about, but I am not gonna do compression tests every week either. I understand there are different adapters for both engines, and I will make sure I am getting the correct sizes.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I would skip the compression tester and get a leak down tester. Much more informative. I have one I bought from Jegs and it works very well.

I was thinking along those same lines. However, sometimes a compression tester is the best choice. I'd buy both, but very specifically I'd one a combo that uses the same QD for the adapters as my normal air hose QD's. This because once in a while you need to pressurize a cylinder (say to hold a valve closed while you work on it's retainer and keepers) and having adapters that simply connect makes this easy.
