I have a complete Toyota Factory PTO setup from a 1971 FJ40. It is complete minus shifter knob and shear pin. All else is included, front unit, complete driveshaft, shifter unit, and drive unit. It is from a 3 speed truck but I have heard that the gears are still available from Toyota to convert to 4 speed.

I was going to use this on my 1979 FJ40 (frame off) so I media blasted it, primed it, and repainted it. I then decided to convert my transmission to a 5 speed H55F and now I need the canadian version PTO made for split cases. I would prefer to trade for (and cash?) for a canadian split case PTO setup or would also trade (with cash) for Toyota factory AC from a 1979 or newer FJ40. Not interested in vintage air though. Just OEM. Thanks. If trades cannot happen and due to it being required....Price is $700/OBO.

5 speed

No Shane I haven't bought it. Just waiting until I get more crap moved out of the garage. I figured I would need $2000 to buy one right? Sorry for the chat.

Email James at cruiser parts as he has them new.

You might want to keep your winch and other parts. Sell the PTO box and shifter. You will probably have a hard time finding a winch for a split case that will just bolt to the frame rails of a FJ40. I'm guessing most PTO split case winchs are from 60 & 70 series cruisers. I would think it would be pretty to just have the drive adapted to match the split case PTO. Unless you need the money more now. That's just my .02

thanks

Thanks for all of the replies. I will have to do some research on which parts of the BJ60 PTO match up to the FJ40 front mounting area. Don't need the money but I do like to have a shop without stuff lying around.

Jeremy I tried that guy , thanks, I am in 2nd position for his PTO.

Fe Sus- how much for the PTO by itself? I really don't want a used transmission. Most of the used H55F's out of canada already have 300k on them.

Thanks all

Aaron

Yeah. I'm getting a new H55F myself rather than deal with the hassle of the re-build. Still, if someone is on a tighter budget and has the skills... who knows, maybe I'll tear into it and rebuild it after all. PTO set-up by it's-self for $1000.

Riddler, where are you located. I have a nearly complete PTO unit from a 70 series....
