I have decided to sell my hardtop and go back to a soft top as the 40 was when it was first built. Here is what has been done to the hard top.
Fiberglass cap has had two layers of fiberglass added to repair small cracks and sprayed with single stage urethane paint, bright white. There were two coats of a high build primer added to fill any pin holes left from the new fiberglass
The interior portion of the cap has been sprayed white to match the exterior
The rain gutter is new from CCOT and coated with anti-rust coating
The rain gutter has been riveted to the cap with rivets from CCOT
There is a new gasket between the rain gutter and the sides
The rear hatch has new gaskets
New gasket at the top of the windshield
There are new gaskets between the top and tub
All rusty areas were cut out and repaired
There are new gaskets around all the window glass
The hatch was quite rusty but that has been cut out and fully repaired
The interior of the top has been painted with single stage semi-gloss black urethane paint with the interior painted to match
All glass in the top is original I believe
New gas struts were added to the hatch
I will supply all the necessary hardware to attach it to the tub
The top came off of a 1974 FJ40 and will fit the later models well. I believe the windshield on my 1970 FJ40 might be a little taller which makes the fit a little higher in the front
Asking $3500.00 I believe that the top is plug-and-play unless a color change is needed.
Steel doors:
All rusty areas have been cut out and repaired
The inside of both doors were sprayed with POR 15
The glass is original in the driver’s door and a replacement pane in the passenger
New weather stripping on both doors
New weather stripping on the wind wings
New felt glass track in both doors
Painted with a single stage urethane paint inside and outside
The interior handle on the passenger side is missing
New door interior latches from SOR
All new stainless steel hardware
Doors came off of a pre-1973 FJ40 and were in rough shape when purchased
Asking $1500.00 I believe they doors are plug-and-play unless a color change is needed
