May 17th Colorado Land Cruisers Club meeting.

This months meeting will be at Bear Creek Park. The meeting starts at 7:00pm. We won't be reserving a pavilion since that cost money so we will looking for an available first come first serve pavilion.

I plan on being at Bear Creek Park at 5:30pm to find the best available pavilion and start working on grilling some food.

Sounds like a plan! I can bring a side to go along with your meats, what you gonna be grilling?

Either one really, but unless you are familiar with the area 21st is easier, it becomes Crestsa. You can see the pavilions to the west after passing the dog park heading south from Hwy. 24. Hope this helps.

Cool, I hope to make it down. I have a guitar lesson at 6PM and it may go an hour since I missed last week. How long do you guys usually hang out?

I joined TLCA last week sometime, can I just bring my app and join or do I need to wait for that card?

Once you get to know us you will see that we have a very strict protocol for the running of meetings. Usually there is a group in the parking lot that is ensuring that the member is driving a Toyota product if not the actual vehicle that is the excuse- reason for joining the club. The excuse-reason vehicle will be checked over and the merits of your decision to perform certain or no work on the vehicle will be discussed. After passing muster will you be allowed into the meeting location. Of course the vetting process may not be very rigorous and may not even happen at all if the weather is nasty. The meeting starts at 7:00 sharp. That is whether the President or anyone else that happens to be there notices the time. We are flexible about allowing others at the meeting to notice the start time also. As in " Oh crap, it is 7:14, I guess we better start the meeting now. " The meetings run exactly 60 minutes. They are timed using the latest technology known as who notices the time after everyone stops talking. At that time members will start to get antsy in their seats until someone remembers that we follow Robert’s Rules of Order and makes a motion to adjourn the meeting. Attendees will depart the meeting using the same technique that is used when changing classes by high school students and normal people during a fire alarm. An assembly of the meeting attendees will reconvene in the parking lot around the most controversial vehicle driven by one of the attendees. This vehicle will soon have people kicking tires looking under the hood and generally talking in sentences that start with “If I had the money ------.” At the president’s option and only if he is given implicit permission, the meeting may not even go inside the building and have all of the above required components performed in the parking lot. This has been known to happen during the summer months. After you have studied the above protocols you will be able to enjoy the meeting more and retain more of the important business that is discussed at each one.

Thank you for your interest.

 nice! This is how our bylaws should read.

Jeep owners will not be shot... just ridiculed until they feel ashamed for buying something so common, then they will be taught the finer points of wheeling "outside the box" and driving a Landcruiser.

I'm going to try my best to make it this week. I'll most likely have some family with me since we'll be on our way to Denver for my wife's surgery on Wednesday. Fun times ya know? I think the only ones who need to be shot are those who say "nice jeep"...oy!

The plan is for summer months meetings which would be May, June, July, August.

That was a cold meeting for being a "summer" month...

Yah it was! The southerners had to leave early because we didn't bring big enough jackets. It was nice to meet everyone and can't wait to hi the trails and see the rigs in action.
Cheers!
Joshua

Each summer month going forward has a better chance of being warmer than the last month so that is a good thing. However it is Colorado so no guarantees.

Got my TLCA stuff in the mail yesterday. Woo hoo! More stickers = more horsepower!

What kind of discount do the local Toyota dealers give members?

If you go into the local Toyota dealer and identify yourself as a member of the Colorado Land Cruisers they will give you a 10% discount.
