Disagree. I think Petrino got enough heat after bailing on Louisville and then Falcons that he's decided to stay for a little while at Arkansas. I think he realizes he got a little too big for his own pants and was humbled by the amount of talk around head coach jumping that he did.

Malzahn will be a great asset to ASU. He's written a book on the hurry up offense that he put into place at Springdale that helped lead them to a state championship, where he secured scholarships for at least 5 of his best players in a D1 school down the street (Arkansas). He did his best to run an offense under Houston Dale Nutt (that can't be easy with an egomaniac like HDN...). This same offensive scheme won a national championship at Auburn. Sure, Cam Newton played a huge role in that, but the scheme Malzahn put together allowed Cam to do the things he did.

Now, I've been wrong before, but that's how the cookie crumbles in my mind. I'll hang up and listen... :)

If he is so good why was he scared to take a true d1a program....

Internet is always correct :P

Not sure. Maybe he wanted to be closer to his roots? ASU made a better offer than elsewhere? He's not ready to jump to the big leagues for whatever reason? I'm not sure. I do believe he's a great coach. I think it's only a matter of time before he plays with the big boys.

He allegedly passed on $3m a year from Vandy last year... and you'd have to think that Ole Miss at least reached out to him this year. Who knows?? Seems like somebody found a skeleton in his closet because he's taking a 50% pay cut to go from OC at AU to HC at ASU... motivated up and coming coaches don't make moves like that. Best case scenario, his agent needs to be canned.

Interesting... I look forward to the storm that is brewing making rain. Hope this isn't the case, but stranger things have happened.

$1 million a year in Jonesboro. Don't have to deal near the pressure as a SEC OC or HC. IN!

I wonder if Dyer will follow him to ASU? Auburn is gonna suck next year and will really blow hard without him. OM may end it's 2.5 year SEC losing streak. May.

Wouldn't that be a similar situation at USM?

Who's replacing Fedora?
