I'm sure I only have the 1.4kW starter and I've never had any problems starting my rig even when it's been -30C out.

Amazingly enough I found a 2.2kw. It's on it's way to me right now! It's overkill but that's what I like!!

Your going to love the 2.2kw starter. I recently switched from the 1.4kw to the the 2.2kw, and it is one favorite mods I've done. It puts a smile on my face every time I crank the key.

I have search for 2wks on this subject. I went to 3 starter shops that listed the 2.2 but all came out with the 2.0.
My best guess is that since the 2.2kw part # is superceeded by the 2.0kw #.. they think the 2.0 is a 2.2..
I was able to get one from a Junkyard in SD straight out of a wrecked 93 LC. Tag #s matched. I should have on friday. my fingers are crossed.
Ordered the rebuild parts from Beno already

sure, could be, I did not give it that much thought, for me it was cheaper and easier just to get a rebuild cold weather one locally from the parts store, not concerned with the other .2 kw!

I love my 2.2kw! Has no trouble starting a cold rig up here and even sounds notably beefier than my old 1.4kw, plus it turns the motor over much faster.

I just got my 2.2 in last night. For those that think there is no difference between the 1.4 and the 2.2, they are sadly mistaken! The 1.4 is completely anemic compare to the 2.2. Much faster starting .. night and day. Two cranks and my motor starts now. Love it!
The difference between a 2.2kW and 2.0kW starter is nothing and no one should be sweating over getting a 2.0kW. If you truck doesn’t start with a 2.0, a 2.2 ain’t gonna help
