how are you installing it? is it pressed in TIGHT? the cord is supposed to be almost flush with the round casing when seated properly, i have yet to see one come loose which is why i ask. it can be a bitch to get seated all the way.
then you can, if need be, use a hose clamp to restrain it from moving. don't go over board, snug should be fine.
i zip tie the cord to the heater hose (about 1" to 1.5" up) but i don't use the ties on the heater itself.

You can get steel zip ties from performance auto shops, speed shops etc.

it must not be seated right, I tred really pushing it in and it is a ridiculously hard to get fully plugged in.
