Hi
I just moved to vancouver with my 81 BJ42, Is it cool if a prospective member comes to check out what you guys are all about? Im interested in picking your brains about turbos and the like.
Thanks
Kit

New members are always allowed to check things out at a meeting, go on a run before joining.
Cheers and welome,

Had planned on getting to the meeting but I still have way too much work to get done before I leave tomorrow morning for work in Nelson this weekend. It would have been nice to win some more tools. :crybaby: Perhaps someone can pass on these details on IVOAC activities and issues to the meeting, eh Bill?

Many of you will have heard of ICBC somewhat sloppy attempt at a study (propaganda) during August to say that RHDs were dangerous. There will be a rally outside ICBC's offices on Sept 21. For more information check out the last couple pages of this thread: http://www.ivoac.ca/pn/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=865&start=45. I understand that Crushers is making the drive out from Calgary for it. I won't be there as again I am away - this time working on the Island.

Some of you may also remember that last spring after pressure from owners and importers that Transport Canada promised a public consultation process. People can write to contact TC with their imput via this web page: http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/importation/contact-us.htm. Also TC had said at the last CCMTA (Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators) meeting that they would hold at least two public meetings across the country - with one planned for Sept in Vancouver. To date there is nothing on the TC web site which says anything about these meetings. When you submitt your letter to TC don't forget to remind them about these public consultation meetings which they said would happen.

In the last few months over the summer a lot of information has been added to the IVOAC web site. So when you get a chance take some time to get updated and better yet raise a little h*ll with your elected representatives. We are making good advances in the battle against a few powerful interests trying to limit our vehicle choices. However, it is just like keeping up your truck, the time to do work is not in a crisis on the trail.:grinpimp:

 John

Unfortunately I am out of town this week, so someone else familiar with IVOIC will have to pass this info on.
