Well coal mine was a great event this year. Even withthe threat of rain Friday and Saturday the weather was very cooperative. I believe the club was pretty well represented, we contributed a lot of trail leaders all four days. Greg did a bang-up job leading our group to the northeast property Thursday, took me on some trails I didn't think I'd ever do again! Some minot dents, dings and scrapes here and there were all the damage sustained at least that i could see. We had some excitement on trail 36 (thanks Greg for both shows!!!) and a rgeat day. On Friday had to remove a broken pinion in Carl's (from CT) 40 rear diff but we got it done and he drove out in front wheel drive. Thankfully it happened in a wooded area and we were able to get his truck to a relatively flat spot to make the repair. Saturday with Andy's frame tearing preseneted another opportunity to do a trail fix. A few calls and friend from Virginia (doctor Rich- thanks a million!!!) showed up with his onboard welder and Andy welded up the cracks and was able to drive back to the staging area. That's the kind of stuff that makes wheeling in this club and this Toyota community such a great thing. alan, our friend with the very capable Jeep who wheels with us, is amazed at the difference between the jeepers he wheels with and our group. All in all a very successful evebnt especuially at the raffle- Andy the pres won the powertank setup and Greg, in addition to a lot of smaller prizes, won the $1500 gift certificate for a set of Interco (Swamper!!!) tires. Awesome time. Don't miss it next year guys it's a primo event and right in our backyard.
