hey guys,

i just noticed that there's a little wet spot below my clutch pedal on my 84 pickup 22R G52 and i'm wondering do i need to replace the mastercylinder or can i just replace a seal or something. as far as i know of it's the original out of 186K miles+or- afew. and i also noticed the paint just below the mastercylinder was kind of bubbling and such both the brake and clutch MC are pretty rusty and the fluid level is still pretty good so i think it's pretty slow leak but now that i've got my license i'll be driving it a lot more.

You can get a rebuild kit for the MC, but IMO it's not worth it. The bore is likely scored, and it's too small to get a decent hone in there to clean it up. I'd just get a new one. The old one lasted 23 years and 186K miles, the rest of the truck will rot out from under you before you'll need to worry about it again.

that's most likely what i'll do. my dad's paying for parts so what ever he wants to get but i don't think i have any aftermarket stuff on there it's all replacement OEM.

just recently, one sales rep contacted my buddys shop. he is from http://www.worldpac.com/
since then he has been using them , and is very pleased. they sell OEM parts at half the cost of the dealer.
