Clutch fork question (1 Viewer)

This stud retainer clip / wire is Broken. Do i need to jerry rig up something? In the middle of my engine Restoration and found this. I wasn't having any issues with the clutch. I don't see that you can buy the piece of wire and don't really need to waste $80 on a fork. I was thinking of the Texas fix all...hay baling wire

According to other threads the wire is part of the fork so it is either buy a new fork or fabricate a wire that works.

I'm not really certain you need it, I thought the wire was there to keep things in place during trans install, once it is all together not sure it serves a purpose.
