    Hey folks,

This has been a long time coming, mostly because I forgot, but I did this pic for Boston Mangler so I figured I would spread it out to everyone.
I mentioned I would post a pic when I first did this so...here it is :D
My sliders hit the pinch weld a little on the drivers side creating a "clunk" that bugged the living sh*t out of me.
    Here is my fix...
I folded a 10" piece of pipe strapping in half to about 5", pounded it flat, drilled a hole big enough to fit over the top of the U-bolt in the end where the two ends of the strap came together and hung it from the bolt between the FRONT slider bracket and the frame to about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way down the frame.
The strap I used was a 10" piece of galvanized pipe strapping, about 1/16" thick (folded in half to 1/8")
When you tighten everything down, the bottom of the bracket tightens closer to the frame, which, in turn, makes the slider sit just about 1/8" lower from the pinch weld, thusly eliminating said "CLUNK"!

Hope this helps anyone who has this issue.

P.S. Which art gallery was it that you said was showing some of your best work at? Will this diagram be there? :D

    Thanks for the info Jeb

I just got done doing mine as well. I put 2 washer (for each bolt) between the slider and the frame to lower the passenger side down a little and i cut a piece of 3/16" The pic says 5/16" but its wrong) flat stock i had and mounted it similar to your way for the drivers side.

    Here are my pics:

Unfortunately, my clunk is still there but i am SURE that it isnt the sliders to i must continue searching for the noise! :frown:
