Hi Everyone,

I've got a '91 73 series and am trying to go from a 16" wheel to a 15" and put some larger tires on. I have identified a wheel with a sufficient offset to accommodate the wider wheel and larger tire while preventing the combo from hitting anything. However, as the photo (kind of) shows, the brake caliper is super close to the wheel (1/8"). It is my understanding that this model year, and newer, have larger calipers. Is 1/8" enough distance?

Thanks for your input.

Yup 1/8" is enough. You only risk getting small rocks in there if wheeling in that type of terrain.

Wheel spacers or grind calipers to give yourself more room.

Cheers
