I figure it's not too early to try to sort out the details on the CLC annual picnic. Any suggestions on location and days would be great. I personally was thinking of either Bear Creek park off of 21st / Cresta or Manitou lake park near Woodland park off of Hwy 67N. I also would like to see this happen on a Sunday. I would be happy to volunteer to bring a grill out and cook, (oh boy, here comes the "he forgot the grill last time" bashing!) or help out with set up. Post your ideas, don't be scared!

.................Bueller?...................Bueller?................:D Wow, not everyone at once here....... I can see the excitement brewing about this years picnic. Funny, it got canceled last year too.

Well, I get back from Portugal on the 18th of June, can we have it afterwords?

I won't make it for the 19th trail trip, I have a briefing to give at a convention in town. two trips now lost because of BS

I posted this because I figured we would have it before Brighten the Sangres, but we've got plenty of time if we do it after. BTS is on June 19,20, so I figure we will shoot for June 27th? Everyone can wish me a happy birthday cause it's on the June 28th! :D

i think Bear Creek is a great place! close to town, good views of the mountains, and plenty of room to park, kids to play, and Covered areas if it rains, ect..

I agree, Bear Creek Park is the place. I'm not just saying that because it is practically next to my house.:D

I have been attending the meetings for Colorado Four Wheelers, and thought it was worth noting that they have their summer month meetings outdoors at Bear Creek park. Thought that was a hell of an idea. Every time I go tot he Toyota dealer there is a 2010 4runner having a stare down with me, I need to quit going there. They also have a fancy raffle with a 4 dollar buy in, but I just don't think we have the attendance for that.

Funny you mention it, The Reason i wanted to to this at bear creek was because i was their for my nieces birthday a few years ago, and i saw Colorado Four Wheelers having a meeting their.

then i thought about how absoluly boring and dull our meetings are compard to them.. Thats what got me going on this idea in the first place!

Our club is mostly different because of our small group of attendance. I mean, not only are we a Toyota club, but most people think we are strictly a Land Cruiser club. That's going to limit you to a pretty small crowd. I have thought of starting my own club at times, a club of no vehicle denomination, but i would probably get shunned by the other clubs because alcohol in moderation would be allowed on the trail in my club. :D

During the May 18th meeting we voted to combine the June meeting and the club picnic into one event. The picnic/meeting will be held at Bear Creek Park on June 27th. The proposed time for this event is 3pm-7pm and will be confirmed when the pavilion reserevations are confirmed.

I made the reservation, I just need to drop of the check tomorrow.

See post 14, 3-7 pm BTW, I have the permit in hand for pavilion 6 :D

Here is a picture of pavilion 6.
