No doubt! I remember Brian trashing the running boards on Ashley's 80 at the first MLK run and then the 1st ever Cruiser Crawl seeing it with sliders and I stayed under that rig for almost an hour in awe of the awesome sliders... I had seen them but never on an 80.

Great trip E..... think it got down to 8 degrees & Bodean says " just throw some lighter knot on the fire"........ didn't have a clue the stack was glowing red by morning. What a BLAST!!!!:D:D

Yea I also remember saying oh were not going to wheel your truck honey:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Found this email in a text file dated Sept 10 2003:

The time has come for Mississippi Cruiserheads to organize!

If you are receiving this e-mail you have either met me, or someone that knows me. I am Greg Thompson, of Jackson, MS. I own an 89 TLC FJ62 and a 73 FJ40.

We are having a gathering of Land Cruiser enthusiasts on the afternoon of September 27 at LeFleur's Bluff State park in Jackson. The purpose of our gathering will be meeting and hanging out with fellow Mississippians who are Toyota Land Cruiser enthusiasts. While we are together we will discuss a Mississippi Land Cruiser club, which would serve to facilitate group rides, wrenching parties, camping/canoeing trips, a Mississippi Cruiser assistance list, and any other ideas that we come up with.
All owners of 4x4 Toyotas are welcome, including Land Cruisers, Toyota Pickup trucks, 4runners, and Lexus 4x4's.

If you know or meet anyone that you think might be interested in joining us please forward this info by email or have them call me. I will be using email to distribute further details, so just have others email me and I will add them to the distribution list.

Please be on the lookout for details in the coming days.

Wow...talk about memory lane. I still have that email. I also remember sitting on Greg's porch one Summer night in 2003, drinking bootleg Texas beer and discussing forming a Mississippi Land Cruiser club and wondering if there were enough trucks in the Jackson area to jump start a group. Also remember brainstorming about names, one of which was Cottonland.

BTW, you guys sure look young in those pics. :D:cheers:

GSMTR Jrob. Lash and Greg drove the Gun Runner to Tellico! Awesome!

Found another folder. Those above are from GSMTR 05. Here's some more. Lash, did we stop at JJJ's and weld on some sliders?

Yes we did! I remember the 2.5" lift, 33s, and the old cage. That was the trip that got me hooked.
Thanks for taking that crazy ride with me!
