Well we pulled the trigger on a new ride for Unmotivated. We found a nice little 2001 VW Golf GTI GLS with the 1.8L Turbo. It's got a few problems that need to be corrected before it's road ready, but all in all it's a sound car. So far the only pic I have of the car is on the trailer when we brought it home the first day. I'll take some more soon and post them. Unmotivated has been suprisingly motivated lately. :)

We need to fix a power steering hose and fix how the radiator was mounted which is what caused the hole in the PS hose. Then doing a timing belt replacement along with the waterpump and seals while the front end of the engine is broken down. This will get the car on the road and running properly. After that, just a few little things here and there that are mostly cosmetic.

What's wierd for me is the car was lowered about 1.5 inches. I'm so use to going up. lol.

you know it. We've already replaced the damaged tire and gotten a new battery for it. Justwaiting for the other parts to come in so we can get on fixing the other stuff. Probably this weekend.
 
It has a cat back on it already but it's a rather stealthy version that works more like stock. it also has a chip in it among a few other things. the original owner put alot of nifty little parts and do dads on it.

I've got a Jetta with the 1.8t and a 6-speed. I didn't replace the timing belt/water pump as recommended and now I'm having to rebuild. Should be putting around 250-260 hp to the wheels when it's over...

oh yeah. This one tops out at maybe 180hp with the chip and the few little mods it has.

He'll have fun thogh i'll be driving it daily to work since it gets better gas mileage than the FJ. Daniel will take the FJ to school which is only 3 miles from the house.

what are you doing to it? I have an upgraded turbo on it, I do know that much. but It's just a K04 turbo instead of the K03. I think that's what the guy told me. We won't be doing too much on it yet, but i'm sure my son will be interested in doing something too it.

At least they were both the same color. Just the Vdub aint so faded. lol

It has to have a remapped ECU to get the good out of that K04. Otherwise it's just an Audi upgrade. It'll be lucky to do 150 mph, which is stupid fast for what it is. The sunroof will sound like it's ripping off. There's a very large VW scene worldwide, larger than you'd think.
