?? Firepit not working Efficiently?

can someone scoop me up a stainless one for SNT?

George lives right around the corner from me. He is a very cool little old guy (he looks about 90, but it may just be hard livin) rebuilding washers and dryers in a shop behind his house. I bought a washer from him about a year ago.

I'd be happy to go over and pick one up for you, but I'm not sure how to get it to Ventura. I'm not going to be at SnT. School just started up. If someone wants to swing by my place and pick it up on the way, I can go get a good one hang on to it until then.

I just got rid of my old washer - was tempted to not have them haul it off, tear it down for the stainless tub, etc. but my old sputnik works just fine. Second link looks like it's already got legs put on. For about $10 you can get plumbing flanges, pipe and some stainless screws and make your own legs that would probably be more stable than what's in the pic.

If you can wait until SnT, I can bring it up to you. While the porcelian has worked great, the article I build mine from also said stainless would be better. If you can nab one for about $25, that'd be great!

Todd and I can probably hook up before then. I work in Irvine.

Ok Pablo - ball is in your court to arrange $$ with Todd. We're very close to each other to arrange a hand off of the tub. Deliverty to SnT is free of charge...ok maybe a bite or three of whatever you're cooking! :D

damn, another one...
STAINLESS STEEL FIRE PIT RING

who wants to help a buddy?

Did you call to see if they still had them? Or have you decided to go a different direction? Depending on where they are in El Cajon, they're probably only 15 minutes away from me. And I'm about 95% certain I'll be at SNT this year:D

sweet! I can paypal the cash, or hand it to you with a plate of pork from the caja china....either way.
SNT delivery will be great.

now to load up my new rv with a cord of oak....

I'll call the guy tonight and see what he has. His backyard is usually full of them so I'm sure there are plenty to choose from. :D

I couldn't figure out how to send pics in a PM :p

George had a couple of nice ones. Here it is. You could fab up a cover for the center hole or I was thinking about a spike that bolts on that could be driven into the sand.

I'll call Brent tomorrow to make sure it makes its way up to Snt:clap:

Nice one!

My porcelean one had the tower in it that I just cut out with a jig saw and left that big hole in the bottom anyway. Some plumbing flanges (6), threaded pipe(3 x 3 or 4 inch) and some stainless steel screws (9 or 12 - can't remember if the flanges need 3 or 4 screws each) will put some good feet (three total feet) on the thing. I'd skip the round charcoal grate for a Weber Kettle grill and eye hooks to suspend it above the bottom of the pit as it just rattles around during transport and pretty much deforms from the heat and rests on the bottom after a couple of fires anyway!

Todd - left you a VM yesterday afternoon with my cellphone. Give me a call. I'll PM it to you also.

score!
thanks for doing all the leg work guys.

Not a problem my friend - I'll take you up on hoisting my big 3 burner stove down off my roof rack as a delivery fee! :D Will have to get my son to help me at home. I think I can manage everything else. Stan has Sputnik and the pop up already.

Todd and I are meeting tomorrow to exchange the booty!

make sure he lifts it...wait....does a Cruiser landing on you trump a heart attack?

You guys have fun next week. I'll think about you while I'm neck deep studying civil procedure.

Brent - we'll have to get together again when we have more time to hang out and check out the rigs.
