You release the tab by rotating the socket a few degrees either way:

And this is the sequence for fully removing the socket:
1) Turn it a few degrees. 2) Pull it out a little. 3) Turn it back. 4) Pull it all the way out.

I used a small screwdriver in between some of the slots in the back to help me twist it. It only has to twist a small bit.Thanks.
