In Riverside? OC? San Berdu? Have a couple things I’d like chromed. Who’s the go to these days?

I got all of my stuff plated at Van Nuys plating. Great shop and even better people.

I’ve used New Year Metal finishing for powder coating and chrome plating.
714 371-0203 in Santa Ana. Nice folks to deal with.

I actually used Astro Plating but l believe they are no longer in business. They were in Van Nuys. I also need to find one here in Tennessee.

Thanks for chiming in Gene. I remembered you said van Nuys, but when I googled local shops, none of the names actually sounded familiar.

I remember and used Astro plating in Van Nuys about 30 years ago on my first FJ40 build and some old barber chairs. Was looking at Van Nuys Plating. Will stop in there over the next few weeks to check them out.

Just dropped some parts off at Van Nuys Plating to get platted in Black Zinc (similar to Gold Zinc, but black). They are still doing Hexavalent Chrome, but will not be doing any Chrome beginning 2027 due to the Laws passed in 2023. If your in CA, Id suggest getting ALL your chrome done in the next 365 days.
