Pretty is when you can't tell there's a repair when it's still in bare metal. I'm not much of a body filler kinda guy. I'm kind of an armchair body man at the moment though.

There is nothing wrong with filler when the Panel is properly repaired.

There are not many that can work with only steel and pull it off.

how the hell do you keep that place so clean and tidy with all the welding, grinding and everything else going on?

i gotta get organised...

Lol!!! To me, it looks like a bomb went off in there. I'm so manic on this build that my tools are literally just thrown on the bench at the end of the day. I can't wait to clean house when this is done.
I do sweep frequently. I get very annoyed when the floor is crunching beneath me with all the grinding particles.

Spent pretty much all day waiting for that Fu@king herculiner to dry. Never use that crap. It sucks!!!! I'm sorry that I tried it. I should have just used the hippoliner to begin with cuz that stuff is great compared to this.

It's tough and very time consuming to do it that way. It's much faster and easier to use the filler IMO.

Yes lets just get this beautiful creation up and running, after all it is going to be used off road and not a street queen. Some natural pin stripping mixed in on the paint and any minor imperfections will be a mute point.

And you call me anal with my tools on the wall, your shop looks like a hospital especialy compared to mine.:grinpimp:

Yeah...that is precisely what I have to keep in the back of my mind when doing this stuff. My work in the shop is gonna be hit n miss this week. Got some "honey do" type chores to do before we head out of town for the weekend. My wife is EXTREMELY LENIENT when it comes to my time in there, so I cant complain AT ALL.

Lol...there MIGHT be a reason for that based on my profession.:hhmm::lol:

Frame is welded up, cage is finished. Need to fit the front shocks and weld in the towers, and mount the trans cooler.
Got some pre emptive ports to add to the motor and maybe do some of the plumbing while it's easy to get to. Moving on!!!

Been throwing money at this thing as if I had it.:crybaby:
Trans cooler mounted, shock towers fit and welded, 14 in shocks up front, 12 in shocks in the rear, added a ridge of sorts to the wrap bar x member for added strength. Since my fuel tank and ultimately my ENTIRE fuel system is mounted to this x member, I thought it'd be a good idea to try and make this as bomb proof as possible. Used some 3/8 in flat stock and welded it across the top of the x member from frame to frame. Also got all the fittings I needed for the fuel and trans. My PS frame rail is gonna be PACKED with lines.

Test flex pics. Stuck the tank and wrap bar back in to make sure that everything is nice and clear. It is.

Hoping to get the motor and such pulled today to start painting the frame. Still some little details to finish though, so well see.

yea that thing is going to awesome... Seeing you 40 always makes me think about trying to find one for myself, but 40's are few and far between here in the rust belt...

You gonna be finished before you know...:steer:

Scrapped getting the motor pulled and painted.
Started looking at plumbing for the trans cooler and fuel lines... That's gotta get done first. Spent pretty much all morning just staring at things trying to figure out how I wanted to do it. Gonna have to do more hard lines than I anticipated. Let the tedium begin.

Thanks for the props gents. I'm starting to hate this build right now. I need to get it done.

Your still moving forward so thats all that matters. The little crap from here on out sucks but before you know it its done. Knock out a few things each day. I had to force myself in the shop some days but made myself spend at least 3hrs a day if I was off work no matter what even if I did'nt go out there till 2100. I have a very understanding:princess:

Like I told you the other day, you gotta keep the faith.

I almost stopped by today to check on you, but we were bushed from taking Mt. Rose. There is still a crap load of snow up there.

Just keep working at it. You are getting close, just keep plugging away.

Funny you mention that cuz I was gonna call you today to see if you were gonna be in the area. Could have used your input on this plumbing s***.
The plan wAs to use all the twist tight hose, but... Securing it is a bit more of a hassle and the space is TIGHT.
Fuel line is gonna have to go on the DS rail ( which is where the fuel lines off the motor are any way) and the trans line on the DS rail.
Problem with the fuel line is that the fittings off the top of the tank are soooooooo close to rubbing, that I'm worried about them with weight in the back. So im probably gonna need to either do a half in body lift, or run off the top of the tank with steel. The body lift would help a TON over all with a couple tight spots. So I think I'm just gonna throw a 1/2 in block on all the mounts.

I just wish something would be easy at this point.

I'll never do this s*** again. If I ever say " I think I'm gonna build..." whack me in the head.

Thank You!

A special thanks for taking time out to weld that faux wrought iron fence section for me. It looks so much better than just cutting the last section to length and cootering it to the wood fence somehow.
