I second checking the heater valve. Mine looked great on one side, but the other was really brittle. Cheap fix and maybe an hour to replace.

Just did mine too, although mine was leaking slightly and was easy to see it was faulty from the stains. Looked a little worse that the original pic. $170 for a replacement..:wrench:

20-30 minute job

Could someone post up a picture of how the cable attaches, I'm dumb, it's been a long time since I took it off and I can't remember how it goes back on. It's probably stupid easy but please.... :D

thought i'd add mine to the mix here - replaced all coolant hoses today and had to replace the heater valve...... both ends pretty corroded and brittle - 173K on clock

Came across this thread recently, bought a new heater control valve and replaced it. So glad I did. 169K on the clock.

They can look fine on the outside but when you remove the hoses:

Anyone know what size the clamps are for these hoses are ?

I’ve all the hoses that connect to the valve or the U loop on the way and a new valve - but I was gonna swap the clamps out to breeze constant torque.

I’ve a bit of a seep so I figure I’ll just do it all at once.

I used the Breeze #10 (9410) Stainless Constant Torque Clamp on mine.
