Hopefully I will have it ready by then. Still needs front spacers, bump stop extensions, sliders & skid plate at the very least to be ready for crawling. Either way I am going. Got a set of 38s for the samurai that I am dying to try out!

thanks, I think. Is it weird to park in a place where I can see it... At all times?! :o

You guys think I should paint the white between the bumper & the champagne color body cladding, black. So it will blend in with the bumper more?

Looks great! I would leave it like it is, but I'm lazy. You own a gym, so thats not a problem. Get to painting!:D

Almost finished the tire carrier. A little paint and the mod will be done. ordered the correct nut, washer and dust cover for the swing out tire carrier from man-a -fre. got tired of trying to match it up. what you guys think? it wont be on an angle, like it is in the pic. i didnt have the top bearing in for this pic. it sits level.

Looks good. I'm almost done with my liscence plate mount for the center of my tire. You may be able to get some ideas from how I did mine. I also sorted out a way to mount my hi-lift on the same swing out.

Keep up the good work.

I would like to see some pics of your license plate holder and how you did the mount for the hi lift jack :D.

i priced the license plate holder and hi lift jack holder that is made for the Kaymar and didn't think it was worth $150 for both

I made a flat plate with holes that match the base plate for the high lift. I drilled through the swing arm and bolted the plate to it to hold the base. The mechanisim of the high lift fits into the tailgate indention where the plate goes.

For the license plate holder I used a 4-runner light assembly. I made an angle piece that holds the light assembly and the liscense plate out of alumninimum. That bolts to a piece of box steel that is used as a spacer, which bolts to the locking plate that secures the spare. It will make more sense when you see it. I'm working on the lights this afternoon. Give me a ring if you want to swing by and look at it. 601.594.7062. I'm in belhaven.

I'll take some pics when it's all done, but I doubt I'll be able to take pics that will show how simple the solution is.

i am hoping my spindle nut, washer and dust cover come in today so i can finish up the tire carrier. would like to see what you did. may be able to swing by. dunno yet. i hope i can do a plate like you are talking about for my hi lift jack. it sounds pretty straight forward.

So let me see if i got this right; the hi lift is just attached to the swing away bar at its base only? does it have another mounting point or just at the base?

It's just attached at the base for now. I didn't like how it was floping around, so I zip tied it to the vertical part of the tire carrier temporarly. I intend to make a horizontal bar of some sort to weld on to hold it more steady. I'd also like to design in some sort of security with that.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

looking forward to the pics. curious what type of welder do you have?

Horible freight 110 with gas. Sucks, but not as bad as my welding skilz. Although, I think there's an argument to be made that a crappy welder is harder to weld with than a nice one.

i have the same one. i have had decent luck with mine, but need a bigger welder to weld thicker metals.

finally got the parts in that i needed to mount the tire carrier. the castle nut, washer and dust cap came in so now it is mounted. so far so good! i tested it with the stock spare tire. didnt want to send a 38 rolling down hwy 55 :O so far no rattles. just need to figure out a license plate holder now.

my plate bracket

Here are some shots of my bumper. Does this last pic cause my description in post #12 to make more sense? Starting from the back of the truck it goes 4-runner plate bracket, alumninum (painted) angle piece, 1X2 box steel (painted), kaymar center cap thingy.
