I read something about this a while back.

If i remember correctly, the idea is that rubber in tires does allow some amount of air to leak through itself. A layer of butyl rubber is used to slow down the movement of air through the tire.

However, different gasses have much different rates of leaking through the tire. So, my guess is that hydrogen would leak through the easiest (being the smallest gas), and with increasing atomic weight, the leak rate would decrease.

All just opinions and faded recolections.

Talk about someone being completely of the reality map!

Yes Kurt, your Coke thread is still on LCML.

You haven't been there in a while and they're still laughing at you for that post. Urban legend now has it that you were serious all along and they never did buy your disclaimers saying you were only kidding.

Enjoy!

Kurt,

Do you notice how "Coke thread" in my post above is in a different color. Yep, that's right, the different color *means* something. What does it mean Beo? Well Kurt, I'm glad you asked. What it means is that if you CLICK (left mouse button) on the words Coke thread then you will be automagically linked to another web site. Which one? Well Kurt, the link will take you to:

WOW How doed u do dat

B,
I searched for almost an hour. I was so proud of my self when I finaly found the LCML archive. I didn't want you or anyone else to burst my bubble :bounce:

By the way, I found a NEW web site http://www.birfield.com/ (i am not internet savvy like -B- so I kant do his trickerey :princess: )
They have forums their too http://www.birfield.com/modules.php?name=Forums
I see LCML has a forum but there is only THREE topics  and someone from this forum posted there
BUT thats not where I found the search archive. I had to do more searching.

I quit LCML when I sold the 60. The LCML was not friendly/helpful towards the 80 owner  But that is when I found a home at SOR. So all was well. Till that board died.
With this board, I see no reason for anyones eyes to wonder elsewhere ;)

Air in tyres

Hi All... As gold finger has pointed out, Helium can be purchased at any gas station here in the UK, now that the petrol in the UK is at 94 pence a litre, it makes sense to fill the tyres with helium, as it does give you more miles to the gallon because it makes the car significantly lighter, and the bigger your tyres, the more lift you get, also get longer life out of the boots.

On a serious note, I drained and re-filled my tyres yesterday.

No, really I did...................True.

They were full of CO2, now they have plain air back in them.

I put the floor jack under them one at a time and emptied them. Next I used a prybar and some big screw drivers to push the beads in far enough so I could get my angle grinder in there to smooth up all the cuts I put in the rims on Tank Trap last Sunday

Big, nasty, granite, frickin' rocks..:flipoff2:

And you teased me about the shrink wrap? Poser.
