Center armrest choices?

I have a 1994 80 and wonder if later models had better versions with a higher arm rest height?

The 95-97 had the same base center console but the "lid" on those had an added padding that the pre-95s did not have. The addition only adds like two inches but IMO (driven both) it is noticeable but not a solution if you are a person that likes to drive with your inner arm supported.

There are a couple aftermarket option that give a higher base, Delta (Delta Vehicle Systems - Shop 80-Series Off-Road Parts - https://www.deltavs.com/equipment-model/80-series) comes to mind.

Have a 94 here too. I ended up pulling the oem center console and installed a Tuffy console. It's a good deal taller than the oem, and it has nice padding on the lid. It makes for a nice center arm rest.

PO put a LX450 in mine to get the arm rest. It's way better than the original but I still want a seat with an armrest or a Delta console.

Highly recommend the @Delta VS console. Its super well built, tons of room, comfortable, lockable and has legit cup holders.

Starting in 93 there were two different height consoles. The OEM leather option has a second compartment with pad on top. The problem is that it was not tall enough and still requires the gangster lean.

After driving my 1997 80 to the Rubicon trail and back, and wheeling for a few days, 50+ hours of driving, the right side of my torso has been sore for several weeks. One trip to the chiropractor and its better but not 100%. The culprit was I was slouched over to the right side using the center console as an arm rest. I'm tall 6'4".

I purchased two inexpensive arm rests on Amazon, I chose this one as it had a more comfortable pad on top. There are 30+ different variations of the same listing. Seeing how I only purchased two, I don't know if there is a better one available...

Pulled the OEM seats out of our 80 as they were thoroughly trashed (I mean freaking disgusting when we bought the rig). Went with Corbeau replacements (and I like them a lot). BUT, no arm rests at all. So now, it's using the door or the Tuffy. But, it turned out to be comfortable.

Please excuse the dust/dirt… just got back from a wheeling trip yesterday, I’ll look up the seat details in a minute.

The Tuffy is the 8” width. The 10” fits but I wanted a bit more room to grab the parking brake.

Edit: The Corbeaus are the "Moab" model. The brackets that Corbeau sells for the 80 series worked very well. But, I did have to drill out a couple of the mounting holes to get everything lined up just right... not a big deal.

Looks great. I have an old set of sport corbeaus installed. I wonder how much better the Moab’s are and. There’s another reasonable on too forget the name. Same effort needed for the brackets on my old stuff. I’m surprised more don’t go with the tuffy option.

A couple of good Mud buddies of mine went with the Tuffy option. As I researched it, it seemed like a great option. It doesn't have the cool factor that the Delta does, but it fit my budget and it turned out great. There are a couple of detailed install threads. It's not complicated, it just takes a little time and some measuring to make the factory bolt down points work.

The Corbeaus are very firm, but that's what I needed for my aging back... lol. Spent 14 hours drive time and 5 hours wheeling time in them over the weekend, and they were darn comfortable.

+ cup holders... lol. It sure is nice to have a place to put coffee cups, etc.
