Has anybody used Carpodgo? How smooth was install? How does it attach to the dash? Can you get reverse camera?

I bought one last week and am trying it out, works great, fast connection and good screen. My goal is to find a non-destructive way to mount it in front of the old screen, it fits perfectly there. It has a very strong magnet connection on the back. I'm looking for suggestions as to the best way to do this and will report back if I find a good solution.

How does it connect to the audio? Bluetooth through another device etc?

Yes. An FM transmitter that my phone connects to. It's all pretty seamless, just want to mount it in front of the screen and am working on ways to do that.

I’m curious as to your findings about a mounting solution.

I have a Grom Bluetooth box that has an audio input. I’d love to connect the audio from the Carpodgo to into the Grom and, possibly, be able to just use CarPlay to run my audio through the Levinson system and not mess with the Bluetooth. Sounds too easy.

You can get the RAM mount that connects to your seat track bolt. Then you run one of the elbow connector things from that post and you can swing the screen in front of the NAV.

This is what I have, I will try to get a picture . I can still sneak my hand behind the screen to run the cruisers screen and swing the tablet around for passenger to operate when needed.. I also have a RAM ball mounted to the center under the NAV, I forget who makes those but it has a bit more shake than the mount that connects to the seat track

The catch here is finding a ram mount that will grab your device, but it seems possible

Thanks for the info, post a pic when you can. I’m so used to using my phone for everything that this whole new system seems foreign!

Anyone else using the Carpodgo? I keep coming back to this as a cheaper CarPlay solution. Sure, it’s not integrated - but if I can get reliable CarPlay and Bluetooth audio without hacking into anything, it might be a win.

Updates on your experience?

Well, I gave it to my son and he’s using it in his 100 series. I hated having the thing on top of my dash, and really had trouble getting a mount I liked. Went back to my phone, less obtrusive. I have to say that the carpodgo did work great and screen was very quick and responsive.

more reason we're all pulling for @Anarchy to finally solve this. I've had a GROM (Mandarin for "glitchy firmware") for years and would LOVE to scrap it for something stable that replaces the 120p screen.
