Carb Running Fast !

2BBL carb original style desmogged,start up it runs way fast and i cant get it to slow down, idle screw no change, mixture screw no change no linkinge binds anywhere all looks and feels good but it just wants to take off to the moon !!!!


ideas?
It started runnning ruff if at all at idle i replaced gaskets on the base plate and egr spacer.
now it's just gone crazy

Have you checked your timing?

I'm betting you squeezed the gasket out into the carb bore and it's keeping the butterflies from closing all the way.

If there's no linkage trouble and the butterflies are really closing all the way you have a vacuum leak (plus it's running rich). Should be a big vacuum leak so not that hard to find.
