NoCo, above FoCo... mofo!
Pablo Cruise mentioned posting this here for local support...

So here's the deal....

So the HOA has taken up a crusade against my :pig:... does not like its looks. (They have no taste) I have a meeting with the Board (The Man) next week. The covenants state able to move under its own power, licensed and insured... 2 out of 3 aint bad, but I am no mechanic. I can fix a power plant's control system, but not tune a carb... It will start but not continue to run...

I don't care if we have to :hillbilly: it just to get through this...

Anyone able/willing to come up and lend a hand? '68 FJ55 with a 1.5F I think... (oil filter on passenger side) Aisin carb.

I'm a bit screwed...
I can pay in beer...:beer::beer: or soda, dealer's choice... and the bonus Cruiser Karma points you'd get would be worth it alone!

I'm in Colorado, north of Budweiser, just off I-25... (Wellington)

pm if interested... I am available Friday night, all Sat & Sun...

Ya gotta love those HOA's. I pay $400/year for absolutely nothing. All they do is bitch about people parking in one place for over 48 hours. When the snow finally thawed last week and the streets were slushy in the sub division, you'd have thought they would hire someone with a blade to make a couple of passes. Nope, the stuff froze back up and I hopped grooves all week getting to Timberline.

As far as your piggy is concerned, does it smoke/spit black crap out the exhaust when you start it or does it seem to run out of gas? Does the gasoline smell fresh or like varnish?

Well the fuel did smeel like varnish and came out orange.....so I have a remote (red neck) fuel cell (don't ask) that I am using. It is getting fuel but will back fire after 5-10 seconds and die... I plugged a couple openings to the manifold, and it is better than it was, It no longer has big clouds of dark smoke out the back.. but don't know enough to know what to check next...... I am thinking possible ignition issue, Dist, points, plug wires look new (From PO) but don't know where #1 should be (TDC on #1 where should rotor point roughly?) I know the firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4 but my dist cap didn't seem to be marked.... I'll look again...

TDC on #1 the rotor would point near the #4 cylinder...

Have you gotten any PM's for help?

My Sundat is looking spotty...

Nyet, Nein, nada on the PMs yet.

I will make sure the plug wires are on correctly too. I think I have a stuck float as the fuel window is full.... I am learning a fair amount through all of this... :)

Hello Toyo_Judson, sorry to hear you are having Piggy problems. I am no expert, but I might be able to come over Saturday or Sunday and lend a hand. PM me with address and your phone # if you still need some help. iH8HOA's. No Taste. Piggies and other Cruisers (and classic cars) should be all that is allowed. Eric C. Fort Collins

Thanks Bob!

I wrapped on the float bowl, hooked up the idle soleniod , plugged some vaccum lines. It can idle now!!!

Eric is coming over this afternoon. Hope to make some more improvements!

Wonderful!

Hope we can meet you at the January meeting...

Place and time? Would love to put a face to a screen name... ;)

Huge thanks to Eric, absolute pleasure to meet, and I really appreciate him driving all the way up here... The Cruiser Karma is strong with this one!

Well the piggy is still a little sick, idles great though... Will rev with the choke partially pulled... Gonna burn up the search function and see if there may be some clues...

Bring your Pig!

Hold on Cowboy, ;) the Piggy is not quite ready to dance yet.... I have brakes to rebuild before I take it out of my housing development...

But I might be able to make the meeting. :D

It's ALIVE!!!!

:pig: :pig: :pig:

I put new/used shoes on it, messed with the timing (redneck tune to go with the redneck fuel cell) and drove it around the block! :steer:

Still has a bit of the sniffles though. Checked the front brakes tonight, bled them and they are ok! No leaks!!! So I will get to the back brakes this weekend. Lots of exhaust smell in the cab and it sounds like a bus!!!! (I love it!)
