Is that light so you can see where you would attach a winch hook?

It would be an LED fog/utility light. You could use it for anything where light would be neede up front. At just over a 1-amp draw, it would literally last DAYS on a typical optima red-top with no other accessories drawing power.

Just looking for some feedback on using something like this vs conventional fogs or the oem lamps. OEM is difficult to get mounted properly in a steel bumper, and the power draw on these as well as durability and life make them a very attractive option... Cost would be ~$150-$200 range.

What about this? It would be 760 lumens and would have an effective distance of about 80-100ft (about like two conventional 55W fogs). It would draw about 1.2A, so it could be run on the factory switch or a custom switch and wouldn't run the battery down for utility usage...

Care to share your source for the LED light?

I think you are on to something, but I don't know how you will appease the masses. Although, maybe you don't care about that.

Your bumper is simple and I think people like that. May just want to stick to the basics before your costs start to skyrocket.

If people want the LED center lighting, they can always add it like Spressomon did.

I like it but the popo's around here require a front plate. Just FYI, LX owners need a turn signal somewhere up front. The corner lamps can be converted but...

I really like the factory fogs, I think they would look nicest. However, if they are hard to fit what about projection halo eyes.
Let me know if it would be possible to fit 4 of these on the front.

Any more pics and info on this bumper?

Sorry, been focusing on another project - a fort in the back yard for my boys for Christmas.

Very cool!!!!!

Curious to how the bump's coming along.... any updates? How about the tree-fort?

Any updates? I hope this is still going but its been over a month since any updates.

Sorry...

Just before Christmas, we had some unexpected turnover at work, and I quickly had to pick up some new responsibilities. To top that off, we got some work in for our welder who was helping me out, and the weather was nasty as hell in Jan/Feb driving the momentum down even farther.

Now that the coldness has finally loosened it's grip, things are getting back to normal, I can focus on getting a few made and shipped.

To-Do list:

- Get the fogs mounted on this bumper, finalize winch options, and probably sell it. It's unpowdercoated and CHEAP since it's the prototype and not everything on it is perfect.
- Source a fog light brand/make and use pipe for the mounts - going round - OEM is too difficult to work with.
- Use #2 bumper to finalize cut files for maximum efficiency during assembly and minimize materials waste. That one will be powdercoated and will go on my LC for some more testing/beating.
- See who wants #3, 4, 5 and take deposits and guarantee delivery dates.

what is the approximate date for selling bumper?????

I've been reading with interest this thread as I am in the market for a bumper. I've been contemplating Slee's bumper or ARB. Now with this possible option to the list, I am interested in knowing what is the lead time for this bumper to start selling???
Let us know as I imagine that there are many out there who are interested.............thanks.

If you need someone to do an Interstate test drive!

My family is in Louisiana, just off I-12.
I'd be happy to drive over from Texas and haul one back (on my truck of course :)).
Seriously, put me on your customer list.
