I am in a very bad position here. Does anybody have the tools/contacts to fix this thing? I haven't quite decided if I'm just going to cage it or try and straighten everything. Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jason

That is a major bummer! Someone on 'MUD will have a better idea on advice. Personally I would say fix it...I would think that would be the most economical overall solution...

Sorry to hear that!
Like everyone else has said....glad no one was hurt!
If I ever roll my rig and live to tell about, that bitch is gettin caged and CHOPPED!
The BLOTCH rig is UGLY already, so I cant do much worse to it.
In your case, it might be better to have it repaired as it looked like a really nice 80!
Quite a testament to the safety of the rig....LANDED on the roof, and that's all that happened!
YOURE sooooooo FIRGGIN lucky!

"Fxxxin kids!", as my dad would say after I did something stupid!
I bet youll never do that again, HU?

I have kidney damage, but it doesn't need to be removed. Right now it hurts like hell. That and some bad whiplash. Nobody else in the car was injured, by buddies shoulder went through the window and got scratched by rocks but hes fine.

It's now been confirmed that insurance will cover it as totalled. So I have many options. I can either take the insurance money (around 13k) and just buy it back from a salvage yard, or I can part it out and buy something else, maybe another cruiser. I really don't know if I have the resources to turn it in to a caged vehicle. Thats why I turned to you folks.

13k can buy you a really WELL BUILT rig, bro.
I wouldnt F around with a salvaged title...When the time comes to sell it in the future, you might run into problems!
Id start looking around and move on with that much cash in your pocket!

Ive seen some RAD taco crawlers BUILT TO THE HILT and SAS'd for around 7K and in nice shape to boot!

In the other thread, I mentioned fixing yours, but after looking at it again and reading the other opinions on buying another one, I am going to agree with them. I would still buy yours back, just in case you do want to turn it into a crawler, but as has been said, you live in Truckee, so I don't see a roofless rig being that much fun after about the first cold snowy, rainy day.

Buy that cheap commuter car for your running around or buy a stock cruiser and strip yours for all it's worth, there are certainly some items that the vultures will want.

Between the insurance payoff, buying a replacement cruiser and selling some of the items off of your old one, you may be able to set your new one up very nicely. Again stay away from Boca, it cost way too much money when you go there.

Glad to hear the kidney is doing better.

Thanks Jack! Yeah I am looking into a $900 Subaru Brat on Craigslist. Good reliable car. I still am not sure if I will fix it or buy a new one. Decisions, decisions. I'm bummed I only got to go on one run with BBC. Hopefully you'll see me again in the future.

Damn! that looked nasty. Thank goodness everyone is okay.

If you make it a cowboy convertable maybe you could do something like a Canback for winter driving. I think it would be great to have a rig like that that you don't have to worry about screwing up on rocks. I still wouldn't want it to be my DD though.
