If body armor makes you happy go for it. It just dosen't seem necessary to me for surviving a few days without infrastructure.skyshark186 said:That house is awesome. I want it.
Whats wrong with body armor? Shesh....hate to hear what youd think of the insane amount of gear Ive got stored away. Kevlar riot shield anyone?![]()
Just keep in mind, anything youve got someone else will want. Being mobile and on your own is a good theory, but there are always oportunits prepared to prey on loners. Pretty easy to pick off even a semi suspecting person at decent range if you know what your doing. Caves provide some shelter but lend themselves a weakness....no way out. A simple pine bow burning could easily smoke someone out of a fair sized cave. Another disadvantage is a lack of the ability to carry water. If youve got an area where water is prevalent, a purifyer may do, tablets make water taste like ass. Course....ass is better than death or dehydration.
Most of the cheaper commercially available tents cant handle sustained use. Tear easily, and get blown to pieces. If loneritis is your plan, make sure youve got a good one or that you carry the capability to make a shelter.
And while you guys are sneaking around up in the hills I'll be drinking your beer and playing with all your good toys.
