Camper Repair.

Decided it was time to do some repair/updating on the big slide in I picked up from BossMan over a year ago. This thing had a roof leak at some point in its life that had cause a bit of rot in the walls and floor.

First thing to do was remove the cabinets so I could see what kind of mess I've gotten into

Had to remove some of the siding.

Nothin like a winter project! Surprised you didn't feel a draft coming in that baby!

I didn't get a pic of the floor in front of the door but it was basically held together by the linoleum.

Had to scab most of it cause I'm not about to remove all that siding while it sits outside

The scariest part was the rear jack was held on by a bead of silicone and termites holding hands!

wow...seems like water leaks are common with the camper stuff, don't know if the body/shell gets stressed too much or just part of the deal.

Just part of owning a camper. Especially a 25 year old one. The stuff they use to seal the seams hardens as it ages. Then you bump it down the road and the stuff cracks. This ones roof has been re-sealed and hasn't leaked a drop since I got. But the damage was already done. The more I dig into it the more convinced I am that the worst came from a baggage door that has been modified and no longer seals up when closed. The search is on for a replacement.

Got a little done today

Used some of the foam left over from the floor to better insulate. At least in the places I've repaired. Also got the first piece of the wall up.

Hard to get motivated when it's pouring down rain and I'm working outside.

Made some progress over the last couple weeks.

Had to build a new cabinet for the corner. the top slides out for when its made into a bed.

Got the walls painted. Its starting to look like a camper again.

upper cabinet back in and the windows put back together.

And new flooring!
