And strange, there's obviously differences in that vertical pipe, but they all (76-93) have the same part # So must be interchangeable redesign? FWIW, the EPC picture shows the FJ40 as long pipe and FJ60 as short, but same part #

now I'll need to look at mine, I don't recall the long pipe on any of them but never noticed until the above pics.

Logic says that with the introduction of the shorter valvetrain, valve cover and carburetor in 8/80 that they had to shorten the pipe of the O/C. And since the shorter version could be used in the pre-81 model, it made no sense to continue producing the longer one.
