I ain't throwing out anything remotely usable!
Not making the FG this year either. 
Been dreamin of fall wheeling in New England for the last couple weeks too. Wish I could be there camping along with the rest of the folks...
Thanks to all for the tech info on the change over timeframe on the fiber gears. Guess I'll plan on swapping them out for a later set from one of the parts motors.

i am kinda shaming myself into sorting this on my rusty 61 while the engine is still on the stand. (and after seeing the baked solid state of my rear main seal). just a little vague on the pulley reinstall procedure. my book basically shows the pulley simply being flogged back onto the crank with a hammer and sst. but it also mentions a "tightening torque" of 115-144 ft/lb. not sure what im supposed to tighten?
i did several years ago pull down a 1966 motor with great intentions of rebuilding it. got the crank ground 10thou under and sourced a few bearings but the project stalled because i couldnt find new pistons under 60thou and i did not want to bore my standard block out this far. in fact block was pretty good; i just wanted to hone and install new standard pistons. so i just slapped an entire donor motor in. anyway this dismantled one is all carefully packed deep away in grease and rags; sure there is a donor (for now) steel gear in there. will did all this out for a look.
these 25 style crank pulleys are different to the later ones. i believe the keyway is different which also means the crank is different. all of this makes me quiet nervous and i dont want to stuff this up. will do some more study tonight. i remember nuclearlemon doing this and ken white having issues of some sort regards early and later variations.
also what do we think is the correct thread in the pulley to accept the puller? my threads are rusty and seems a bit po hacked. thinking to use a long thread and put a washer and nut behind. makes me nervous though!

Ok, so I gotta ask: For how long did Toyota use that design? Or Does my '66 FJ45 have that stuff (like the fiber cam gear)? If so I'm swapping it out now before it leaves me sit on the side of the road...
Mike, glad to see it's fixed and rolling again. Did that headlight find you in one piece? You need to change yer avitar if so.

My '65 had one Nick. Kind of a long time to wait for a reply, eh. Luckily, mine shut down as it was warming up in my backyard, at idle, and nothing was damaged.
And this was back in around '95.
