I keep getting dash lights and C1223, C0215, C0210 codes whenever driving in wet conditions. I knew these codes reflect ABS malfunction, right and left rear wheel speed sensors respectively, but why do they only show up during wet conditions?

Thanks friends.

This is the response I received from Toyota.....helped a lot. Ha!

Interesting...

Didn't think to update this post, but since swapping out my 16" stock wheels for new tires and 18" wheels I haven't had this problem, and I was able to test this (observe this*) last week when driving through 6-8" of snow for 1.5 hours. I don't know enough about wheel speed sensors, but maybe there were faulty connections that were 'fixed' when I had the new wheels put on? I'm just glad its over...fingers crossed...

Yup...C1223, C0210,and C0215. Got the codes after driving in heavy wet or snow weather conditions (Chicagoland). I then park in the garage overnight to dry and then the codes go away. I looked the the rear speed sensors and they look like there is no way moisture is getting inside the speed sensors. I was thinking of checking the plugs. Any other advice?

Did you find the root cause? I will dive into mine when I do my rotation next weekend. Guess I should have a sensor standing by?

Issue only when wet. It's very likely a short. If only when driving, and not just sitting out in wet weather. Likely, under carriage wiring. I'd start by disconnect (unplug) each wire housing block, under rear area. We've one bunch comes out from LH rear 1/4 and another near exhaust tail pipe. Look for one grimy inside. If you find one. Clean with plastic safe electrical parts cleaner. Then add dielectric grease, on the seal seen in housing.

Look close also at wire near exhaust. I've seen one with hole resonator. It metaled the whole bunch of wire housing blocks, just above resonator/tail pipe.

I've also seen were rodents have chew wire sheathing and wires. That when wet, complete a circuit. So look closely at all wire sheathing.

One way you may be able to isolate. Spray water, in only one area at a time.

Thank you very much ! Can I access the bunch of wires on LH quarter panel from the inside by removing the plastic panel in the cargo area?
The light disappears when truck sits inside and dryers out , so I’m hoping it’s just moisture from driving around .

You want to look under vehicle, where water gets to, when driving.

Below is LH side. Also look and RH side.

The wire in rear 1/4 behind plastic, are likely dry. Unless body of 1/4 tip rusted out exposing them.
