that seems like a steal

dang, I'd say there is indeed $450 worth of parts on there....

What is the OEM app. on this wheel?
16" appears to be the correct offset.

I believe I saw some early Sequoias with that as a spare too.

That was gas money well spent!

Great buy I wish I could have found one when I needed a engine.

I am liking the looks of the project. I agree that it must be unique.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Cut the 80 series frame down 6", cut all the 80 series body mounts off , drop the 55 body down and see where every thing falls. The 80 chassis is very easy to find your way around. The harness is also easy. I have a spare harness, steering column, and ECU when you need it.

I went out and took stock of my purchase this afternoon and unloaded it, the list of items needed to return it to the street ........
Distibutor/coil/igniter......
Steering gearbox......
I will have some items to barter, ABS stuff, nice reciever hitch

Yep, those wheels are the OEM spares on Tundras, Sequoias, and Tacomas.

They are 16x7s, but are 1" narrower offset than OEM 80 series wheels.

If you want more, you can search for tacoma steel wheels on ebay; there's some company that sells them for $55 each.

The steering gear is the most expensive part on your list.

Body, interior, etc maybe inline also, although I start and run my chassis quite a bit for grins.

Has it been done?

I really like the idea of being the first....... :D

Then I reccomend a w123 merceds 240 or 300. surely noone has done that..sure there's lots of Mercedes blazers, etc...but no way had anyone been stupid enouhg er.....original enough to do a fz.....:flipoff2:

sorry to dredge this one back up but I was traveling for a week and missed it

but when I look at that I dont see a fzj80/55 project

instead I picture a fjz80/tube framed buggy project

Uh.. Engine for your shorty 45???

I've had a soft spot for pigs since I was 8. Dad had one from 1980 to 1988. Learned to drive on it, though he sold it a year before I got my licience. As cool as an FZJ Pig would be, I'd get a 40 body, stretch it, and put this top on...
