For those that don't know, I smacked the front end of the land cruiser. So my timeline to get a bumper has been shortened.

I had planned on having a good friend fab me a custom bumper. But he has a shop full of projects and can't me in any time soon.

So I am thinking of getting 1 of two bumpers.

The avid off road is 1 option. Its about 1200-1300 with shipping. I would likely buy it, and run it a while until I can get my custom bumper made. I like it, but not enough to really want it forever.

Option two is the full till boogie from @Delta VS
Talking to a local, I can guess what shipping would be. With taxes and all, I am looking at about $3000 for the bumper.
With taxes and shipping, I might consider just driving over to get it. I don't work Fridays so I could just leave early in the am.
This would avoid sales tax and shipping. The drive would run me about 300 in fuel.

This is how I'd spec the bumper, minus the lights.

So that's the poll, option 1 or 2?

IF you have a good option 3 i'd love to hear it.
If your option 3 is the arb, you can keep it to yourself.

I love how much you hate the ARB. Now whenever I see my bumper I think: "damn, Dustin really hates this mother@$%ker!" DVS FTW.

It's common
It's unimaginative
It's not that strong
It doesnt fit the body lines.

I don't hate anyone who has it. But I will driver without a bumper before I install an ARB lol

Like I said, I really enjoy how much you hate on it. I inherited mine, no ego attached. I like your choices.

Slee

I was too slow. If you don’t like the Sortbus, then we have different tastes in bumpers and my vote won’t help.

I seem to have different taste in bumpers than most 80 owners because the two I listed are the only two I would even consider out of the main list of bumpers.

The dvs removes the valance....
Yeah. Ugly.
I don't like the sleep tube setup.
That's your problem. Trail miles says it works.
Also their site says out of stock.
Give'em a call and re-eval.

edit:my mistake. I apologize.

I like the dvs and find the slee ugly.

The amount of trail time my rig will see says I want form and function. If it works and is ugly, I don't care. And yes, it is my problem. Because it's my rig and I want a bumper I find good looking and functional. The slee is only 1 of those.

I don't need to call them. The slee isn't an option.

Whatever you get make sure it will protect the dryer, pretty much every aftermarket bumper I have seen leaves the dryer exposed to getting hung up and damaged.

Pointless me voting as I would have neither.

Honestly the ac may not even work on my truck. I've never checked. I don't own a rig with ac besides this.

Same.

Agreed.

If the two options you propose don't fit the bill, then seriously curious, what would this bumper be?

I discussed this elsewhere.
The dvs does fit the bill. It's just expensive.

I am more of a fan of tube structure with some plate as filler.

I prefer the tube buggy/pre runner look to these slabs of plate that exist.
This is a limited example, but something like this

3000$ for a bumper is crazy. I don’t like it either, but that’s just my opinion.

I guess coming from the arena I come from, spending that kind of money for stuff isn't that crazy. The front brakes on my lightning were 3k and it's just 2 calipers, 2 rotors, 2 lines, pads, and hubs.
